Growth Hormones Direct Releases Summary of Available HGH Products

Growth Hormones Direct Releases Summary of Available HGH Products

Growth Hormones Direct (GHD) releases summary of available HGH (human growth hormone) products.

Mesa, AZ (Vocus) July 29, 2010

Growth Hormones Direct (http://www. growthhormonesdirect. com) (GHD) releases summary of available HGH (human growth hormone) products (http://www. growthhormonesdirect. com/growth-hormone/growth-hormones-news/available-hgh-products/). The availability of several versions of human growth hormone leaves many unsure which will offer the best results. Individuals look to buy growth hormone to help with: weight loss, anti-aging, immune system boosts, increased healing ability after an injury/illness, etc.

Growth Hormones Direct suggests that consumers looking to buy growth hormone (HGH) should be aware of what they are looking at when they browse HGH products:

1. HGH Injections: A synthetic version of human growth hormone is injected directly into the individual’s body. Injections are often administered 2-3 times per day. Many see injections as being an expensive alternative (up to $25/shot). Injections require a prescription, but are not typically covered by insurance.

2. Oral HGH sprays/drops: Oral sprays/drops are based on the science of homeopathy. Precise formulation is vital when using a homeopathic spray or drop. Individuals considering a purchase should verify that they are working with a reputable company. HGH sprays/drops are available at varying price levels, but are available at a drastically decreased cost in comparison to injections.

3. Natural HGH Releasers: This method increases the body’s release of HGH. They are taken in tablet form like a vitamin. The pills are typically an herbal combination with no synthetic substances. They are said to activate the pituitary gland and stimulate production of HGH.

Dr. J. Ronald Willis of Growth Hormones Direct responds, “Many individuals who are prescribed HGH injections due to deficiencies are even turning to homeopathic versions of the hormone in order to eliminate the stress on the body that occurs due to the rigorous injection schedule (not to mention the expense). We see people benefitting just as positively from the homeopathic HGH formula (http://www. growthhormonesdirect. com/buy-growth-hormone-hgh/index. php) as they did when they were on an intensive injection schedule.”

Growth Hormones Direct urges consumers to watch “Science...Meet Nature” as they reap the benefits of optimizing their hormone levels through proper use of the homeopathic growth hormone formula. Optimal hormone levels allow individuals to enjoy increased general health. Growth Hormones Direct is an Arizona based distributor of quality health foods, supplements, pharmaceuticals and neutraceuticals.

(PRWEB) June 1, 2005

Catholics@Work, a fellowship of individuals who explore how to actively live oneÂ’s beliefs in the workplace, (www. catholicsatwork. org), today announced its June 2005 breakfast meeting will feature Chairman, CEO and Co-founder of AmericanTours International (ATI), Mrs. Noel Irwin Hentschel. Noel, driven by her faith, has committed her life to serving others through her business and her charitable foundation, which was inspired through her work with Mother Teresa. The Catholics@Work breakfast event will be held at Crow Canyon Country Club, 711 Silver Lake Drive, Danville, CA 94526 on Tuesday, June 14, 2005. A full buffet breakfast is served starting at 6:45am (Mass is offered at 6:15am at the same location.) Cost is $20 for members and $27 for non-members. To register visit http://www. catholicsatwork. org/EventDesc. aspx (http://www. catholicsatwork. org/EventDesc. aspx).

In 1988, after meeting and working by Mother Teresa’s side in Calcutta, Noel was inspired to establish The Noel Foundation “to help those who cannot help themselves” with a focus on the homeless and mentally ill, and abandoned or endangered children. The Noel Foundation provides education, job training and urgent health care in California and internationally. The foundation has created and funded numerous projects worldwide. Today, The Noel Foundation principally serves the Missionaries of Charity and perpetuates Mother Teresa’s legacy by helping to establish missions in California and Mexico. Since 1990, The Noel Foundation ’Life’ Award, has been presented to women who lead by example and have made a difference for humanity. The Noel ‘Life’ Award honorees have included civil-rights pioneer Rosa Parks, former British Prime Minister Lady Margaret Thatcher and Special Olympics Founder Eunice Shriver.

“The key to success in life is serving others,” said Noel Irwin Hentschel, co-founder, chairman and CEO of ATI. “Work toward good and good will happen. At our company, ATI and at The Noel Foundation, we aspire to fulfill Mother Teresa’s inspirational words: ‘…together we do great things for Christ’. We believe that by partnering with the people where you work and do business with, results in a greater ability to help the needy, and at the same time provides others with the heartfelt rewards of giving to the less fortunate.”

“Faith and responsibility have shaped my personal and my professional life. Commitment to God, family and community are the pillars on which I have built everything, including my business. Faith and business are not mutually exclusive, they are intertwined and can work together. Each of us has something to offer, and if we leverage our strengths we can do great things together,” Noel continued.

“Noel demonstrates how a single individual can impact the world through living and acting on her beliefs,” said Rick Medeiros, President of Catholics@Work. “Her work to build a better global community, to support those who most need a helping hand, is an inspiration to all of us.”

The eldest of ten children of an Irish Catholic family, and a wife and mother of seven, Noel worked several jobs to raise a life savings of $5,000. In 1977, she put all of her savings into realizing a vision and co-founded ATI, a $150 million enterprise that employs more than 200 people. Today, ATI is a highly successful company that brings nearly 1 million people from more than 70 countries to North America, and generates nearly $3 billion each year into the US economy, and $800 million into California alone annually. Noel has forged a strategic alliance between ATI and AAA (American Automobile Association) to provide exclusive on-line travel services and products for their 46 million members. Noel serves as Vice Chair for the United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board and Strategic Alliance Committee for the Department of Commerce. Her public service also included a run for Lt. Governor for the State of California. She is a regular political panelist on the TV shows, Week in Review and Beyond the Beltway.

Noel’s abilities, passion and commitment to humanity are recognized worldwide -- Time Magazine calls her a “local hero” for service in South Central Los Angeles where she accompanies Sheriffs on ride-alongs, and provides Education Through Travel programs to help prevent youth from joining gangs. Success Magazine has named her as one of America’s leading entrepreneurs, ranked with Oprah Winfrey.

Zero Point Technology and Energy Fields

Zero Point Technology and Energy Fields

Learn about new tools to help ADD and ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), as well as keep health-destroying energy fields under control so destructive things you may encounter in life are neutralized.

(PRWEB) September 16, 2005

What is the nature of life? This is a long-pondered question and the debate rages on between promoters of a particulate or an energy-filled universe. What do you think? Does it matter?

In reality it does matter. Because if we understand that we live in an energetic universe, we can avail ourselves of foods and technology used to create an optimal environment so that destructive things you may encounter in your every day physical reality can be rendered harmless to your energetic electrical body.

Our environment is such that we perceive everything as being physical. Though in actuality, everything is affected by the non-physical, because, in fact, that is all there is. We, therefore, have to decide how to enhance the quality of our lives in this third dimensional world using all the tools that are available.

This must begin with an accurate understanding of this energetic place we call reality (or life). When you come to that understanding you then use various types of non-physical tools that can create healthier and safer environments and foods.

Man Made Energy Fields

We are constantly stressed by conditions that are man made. For example, ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) is a carrier frequency used for military communications, which transmit information on long sine waves.

Sine waves can penetrate right through your physical body. And, because your physical body isn't really physical, it is assaulted severely by these conflicting energy fields. The stress the sine waves produce, weakens immune function.

Then, thereÂ’s EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields) that are generated by anything electrical that is plugged into the wall. It is also found in high-tension wires near and over your house, frequencies coming off of satellites, radio emissions or television stations.

These frequencies can destroy and stress your energetic body as well. Then, there are microwave and cell towers on top of almost every hill in almost every community. These towers are broadcasting data via microwaves, which also travel into your body, creating significant discord. These waves create chaos in your energy field, which translates to all manner of discomfort, discontent and disease. Just because you look into the mirror and do not see the effects immediately, an effect is occurring.

Zero Point Energy Fields

When the body becomes overwhelmed, and your system begins to fail, your immune function ceases to perform. It is now compromised, leaving you wide open to adverse effects such as bacterial fungus, viral infection or even worse, degenerative conditions like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and so on.

This negativity comes from a lot of different sources, not just the invisible ones like electro-magnetic fields. Some things that impair you in an adverse way are very visible, things such as a fast food, french fries and a soft drink. When you ingest greasy, lifeless fast - foods, your system is thrown into the same kind of energetic disarray.

The good news is there are some valuable tools available that create an optimal environment and change destructive things you may encounter. These same tools also help control Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD, ADHD) with purely natural means.

The Donald & Apprentice Colarossi

The Donald & Apprentice Colarossi

The Donald & Apprentice Colarossi

Stamford, CT (PRWEB) May 2, 2004

We have all heard about the show, The Apprentice, the “15-episode unscripted drama in which 16 candidates from all walks of life, including both Ivy League MBA graduates and street entrepreneurs with no college education, endured rigorous tasks each week while living together in a hip Manhattan loft apartment. The tasks tested their intelligence, chutzpah and street-smarts. They faced the challenges of living in close quarters and must complete sometimes humorous, but always difficult, job assignments and were forced to think outside the box in order to outshine each other to get to the top”. (http://www. nbc. com/The_Apprentice/about/index. html (http://www. nbc. com/The_Apprentice/about/index. html))

Long before this show aired, there was an actual “Wannabe Apprentice” to The Donald and his name was Glenn Colarossi. Internationally renowned health club, fitness and spa innovator Glenn Colarossi, chief executive of Colarossi Consulting, had been a fan of The Donald since the 1990s and even based his entrepreneurial style of this role model. On Glenn’s office wall is a note from The Donald stating “good luck with your fitness clubs” dated in the late 1990s and ever since then, things have been happening!

Glenn was recently chosen by one of the world’s leading hotel and leisure companies to develop a chain-wide standardized program that would enable the company’s guests to participate in a state-of-the-art fitness program at all Westin Hotels. Working with the parent company of Westin, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Mr. Colarossi has developed the WestinWORKOUT, a comprehensive fitness experience that includes the room’s design, décor and equipment.

He’s also performed such services for Four Seasons Hotels, The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Hilton International and others. He has developed centers in four main segments – Hotel, Residential, Corporate and Commercial – in areas as culturally diverse as the U. S., the former Soviet Union, the Far East and Middle East.

VAT ADVISORS CHOOSE HANSA

VAT ADVISORS CHOOSE HANSA

11 June 2002 - Liaison VAT Consultancy Limited, has placed an order with Hansa Business Solutions valued at £80,000 for a full suite of Hansa Financials - integrated job costing, financials and business management software applications.

(PRWEB) June 13, 2002

The Hansa job costing and financials solution was selected for its mobile computing functionality, as 30 of LiaisonÂ’s 55 staff work remotely. This enables individual employees to view and work on the system on laptop computers using a mobile phone dial-up connection from customer sites, without having to use any third-party communication tools and yet maintaining the high speed of the software. The Hansa Financials software solution will provide LiaisonÂ’s nationwide team of VAT advisors with shared access to real-time business information whilst servicing clients on site.

Liaison VAT Consultancy is the UKÂ’s largest independent provider of VAT advice to the public and private sector. It offers a range of services including VAT compliance and health checks, VAT project work, training and helpdesk services. Clients include many NHS bodies, private hospitals, government agencies, education establishments, property companies, charities and the professions.

Hansa Business Solutions undertook a high level of specification and customisation of certain aspects of the software in order to provide Liaison with comprehensive reporting facilities to assist project management. It is now able to easily track the accuracy of quotes, profitability of individual projects, and productivity levels within each area of the business. Liaison can also track each new project from initial sales visit to completion and identify slow-moving projects.

Liaison previously used SunSystems as its accounting product, along with a CRM package from Goldmine, which made real-time integration and data sharing very problematic. With the growth of the business, manual data entry between disparate systems became a cumbersome process, and the complexities of relating financial information with the rest of the business operations was no longer tolerable.

Jon Kelly, managing director of Liaison, explains, “Previously we were operating with a whole array of software products, when what we really needed was an integrated system. We dismissed the idea of interfacing various new packages with our existing products, as this still could not offer the level of functionality we were looking for, and it was also very expensive. In contrast, Hansa Financials delivers a single software solution within one underlying database, which offers true integration and transparency of data.”

Kelly continues, “With a centralised database of information as presented by Hansa Financials, we know everyone is working from the same information and it is much easier to manage all of our data. We can now save significant amounts of time by eliminating the duplication of work, which enables staff to re-deploy their time to more important tasks. As the consultants become familiar with the system, their competency at generating really meaningful management information improves. This gives us the ability to plan more effectively for the future and enables us to have far greater business control.”

Liaison is looking to further extend the benefits of Hansa Financials during the next 12 months by launching an extranet using HansaÂ’s webshop. The extranet will provide a value-added service to clients allowing them to see account details, the status of projects and other personalised information relevant to their business.

About Hansa Business Solutions

Hansa Business Solutions is one of the fastest growing suppliers of CRM, financial and logistics software in Europe. With its headquarters in Buckingham Gate, London, the group has over 110 employees in 11 countries. The local product managers are specialists in the needs of each country and adapt the software according to local requirements. Hansa software is used by over 50,000 companies in 60 different countries and it is translated into over 19 languages.

All Hansa products are written in the modern ANSI-C programming language, which allows the quick and simple adaptation of software for different operating systems. Hansa Financials is believed to be the only software product suite that is truly cross-platform, enabling LAN and WAN configurations with mixed servers and clients operating on the same network.

Currently Hansa Financials is available for Windows 95/98/2000, Windows NT, Mac OS and UNIX. Hansa is also the first supplier in Europe to have launched both client and server versions for Linux.

Since 1997, it has been possible to use Hansa products through the Internet and these products are now in frequent use over internet-connected mobile handsets.

Phlebotomy Technician students draw blood as part of their training at Pima Medical Institute, 3350 E. Grant Road, Suite 200, but they were also part of the donating process during the career collegeÂ’s blood drive July 8th. Students and staff donated 60 pints of blood for The American Red Cross, a non-profit organization responsible for collecting, processing, and distributing blood and blood products to hospitals and their patients throughout Arizona.

"As future healthcare professionals our students understand how vital blood donations are," said Stan Bodzioney, campus director for the Tucson career college. "They say you shouldnÂ’t ask somebody to do something you wouldnÂ’t do yourself, and these students show they are not afraid of donating their own blood to make sure there isnÂ’t a shortage. They truly are professionals in their training, as well as their commitment to help the community they serve."

Little known facts about blood include: An estimated 85% of us will require blood before the age of 75; one pint of blood can save up to three different peopleÂ’s lives; the average car accident trauma uses about 50 units of blood and there is no substitute for human blood.

In addition to their curriculum for Phlebotomy Technician, PMI has programs for: Dental Assistant; Medical Assistant; Medical Administrative Assistant; Health Unit Coordinator; Pharmacy Technician; Physical Therapist Assistant; Radiography; Respiratory Therapy and Veterinary Assistant.

PMI is one of the premiere medical career colleges in the western United States. For more than 30 years they have focused on healthcare and served as an industry leader in medical career training. The privately owned, accredited school provides students with a well-rounded education embracing theoretical classroom studies, as well as on-site training at medical facilities that mirror the working environment they will pursue after graduation.

PMI has been serving students since 1972, with campuses in: Albuquerque, NM; Chula Vista, CA, Colorado Springs and Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Seattle, WA, Mesa, AZ, as well as Tucson. Additional information is available by calling 1-888-442-5998 or at http://www. pmi. edu (http://www. pmi. edu).

New Pregnancy Diet Plan Videos Say: Omega 3 Foods Better than Omega 3 Supplements, Research Supports Conclusion

New Pregnancy Diet Plan Videos Say: Omega 3 Foods Better than Omega 3 Supplements, Research Supports Conclusion

Certified nutritionist and exercise specialist Isabel De Los Rios encourages expectant mothers to develop a nutritious pregnancy diet plan in her educational video series What to Eat While Pregnant. De Los Rios has helped more than 50,000 people worldwide lose weight for good with her all natural, scientifically-based weight loss plan The Diet Solution Program.

Florham Park, NJ (PRWEB) October 28, 2010

If you have ever wondered if a nutritious pregnancy diet plan should include omega 3 supplements, then you’ll want to check out certified nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios’ new educational video series What to Eat While Pregnant.

The Journal of American Medical Association recently published findings of a study conducted by researchers at the Women’s and Children’s Health Research Institute in North Adelaide, Australia. Researchers set out to further examine claims that omega 3 fatty acids help prevent postpartum depression and boost fetal neurological development. Unfortunately, the study concluded that omega 3 supplements don’t offer mothers and their babies these benefits.

Researchers are struggling to understand these findings in light of previous studies which revealed that women who ate fish during pregnancy reduced their risk of postpartum depression and that fetal brain development benefited.

A Wall Street Journal article focusing on the recent research speculated that perhaps “eating fish is better than taking fish-oil supplements or that women who opt to eat fish are generally healthier and engage in other health-promoting behaviors.”

Certified nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios agrees with this conclusion saying, “Omega 3 fats have really become all the rage and really they are as great as everyone says they are, especially during pregnancy.”

But, continues De Los Rios, “I’m a really strong believer that your body absorbs more vitamins and minerals from real food than it does from any supplement.”

In her new educational video series What to Eat While PregnantDe Los Rios encourages mothers-to-be to eat omega 3 dense foods including very low mercury fish like sardines, anchovies and wild salmon. Organic eggs, flaxseeds and walnuts are also a good source of omega 3 fatty acids according to De Los Rios.

Isabel De Los Rios earned a pre-med degree in exercise physiology from Rutgers University and is a certified Holistic Nutrition Lifestyle Coach. Her all-natural, scientifically-based weight loss plan The Diet Solution Program has helped more than 50,000 people lose weight permanently.

De Los Rios has combined her science education, nutritional background, and personal experience as a new mom to create the video series What to Eat While Pregnant. The videos are designed to help expectant mothers understand how to develop a nutritious pregnancy diet plan.

The Swarovski Crystal Empire Celebrates Grand Opening of Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Center Hotel with Dancers, Symphony, Celebrities, VIP's

The Swarovski Crystal Empire Celebrates Grand Opening of Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Center Hotel with Dancers, Symphony, Celebrities, VIP's

Fairy Tale Festivities and Dazzling Hospitality Highlight History Making Debut of Brilliant European-Inspired Luxury Wellness Destination

Markham, ON (PRWEB) June 2, 2010

When the first guests of Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Hotel in Vernon, British Columbia above the Okanagan Valley, entered the hotel's glass atrium during its recent grand opening, they must have sensed that the origin of Native word "Okanagan," meaning "transport toward the heavens," was fitting.

The Grand Opening spectacular, held on April 30th for the European-inspired wellness destination literally sparkled with hundreds of thousands of Swarovski crystal elements. The property rolled out the red carpet for European dignitaries, local officials, and guests who were wined, dined and delighted by professional entertainers, musicians, and performers.

Sparkling Hill Resort's momentous Grand Opening commenced with a surprise performance by the Vernon Highlands Pipe and Drum Marching Band. The group paraded to the Resort's porte cochere and was greeted by Gernot Langes-Swarovski, the patriarch of the Swarovski crystal empire with his wife Eva and son Markus along with many smiling faces invited for the festivities. More than 150 guests including members of the Okanagan Indian Band were in attendance to commemorate the dawning of a new wellness experience in North America.

Construction of the 240,000 square foot resort was conceived by Gernot Langes-Swarovski and designed by Swarovski architect Andreas Altmayer incorporating 1.9 million Swarovski crystals in virtually every element of the property. The brilliance of the crystal elements found in the chandeliers, walls, fireplaces, and stair handrails create a laminating effect filling the space with light and dimension. "We are the first building in the world with public crystal architecture," said Hans-Peter Mayr, the Resort's chief executive officer.

The Grand Opening celebration included an elaborate afternoon reception with ribbon cutting and performances. The European rising star singer Nadine Beiler was flown in by the Swarovski family to surprise Gernot Langes-Swarovski with a song dedicated to him. After numerous performances, guests dined on European-inspired cuisine and migrated to the Austria Room, Sparkling Hill Resort's main ballroom, for a performance by the Okanagan Symphony. It was a fairy-tale ending for the breathtaking event.

"We evaluated many system providers to select the finest technology to support our resort's high-touch guest-centric service standards," said Hans-Peter Mayr. The People Speak (TPS) announced today the 12 finalists of Buzz Cuts, a multi-media advocacy contest to promote student activism and awareness, in support of Nothing But Nets, a grassroots campaign to prevent malaria. Each finalist will receive $500 to create multi-media tool kits for use on their campuses to encourage students to learn more about malaria and how Americans can become engaged in eliminating the disease in Africa.

“Malaria kills one child in Africa every 30 seconds,” said Victoria Baxter, Executive Director of The People Speak. “The campaigns these students came up with are creative, innovative and will help spread the word about how easy it is for Americans to help stop the spread of this disease. It is encouraging to see this next generation of student activists harness the power of the web and media to do something that will truly make a difference.”

On July 16 and 17, 2007, the 12 finalists from colleges across the country will travel to the United Nations Foundation in Washington, D. C. to receive their $500 mini grant and attend a training seminar to learn about malaria, Nothing But Nets, and the production of multi-media toolkits. The winning proposals range from “A Malaria Buzz Cut” to give a professor a buzzed hair-cut, to a “Malaria Fashion Show” incorporating nets into the clothing modeled, to a “Malaria Beach Volleyball Tournament” in which the balls are painted with mosquitoes.

On June 17, 2007, TPS will also take the students to Capitol Hill for meetings with Hill members and staff to learn more about the United States government’s work on malaria and global health.

After the training, the finalists will return to their campuses to plan and implement their campaigns during the Fall 2007 semester. Over the course of the semester, blogs, photographs and videos documenting the campaign planning will be featured on http://www. thepeoplespeak. org. Personal Chefs Encourage Heart Health Through Private Cooking Classes

Personal Chefs Encourage Heart Health Through Private Cooking Classes

NY Metro area Home Cooking Consultant chefs are eager to teach clients heart-healthy cooking techniques and support awareness of the "Go Red for Women" program of the American Heart Association.

North Bellmore, NY (PRWEB) January 12, 2008

Personal chefs from the New York Metro area have been promoting healthy eating habits and cooking techniques through a variety of personal chef services over the past several years. However, during the next month, these chefs are preparing to dish out donations in support of the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" program. For every gift certificate sold from now until Valentine's Day, these chefs will donate $5 to the American Heart Association.

"My family has a history of heart disease, so this is an important and personal cause for me," states Lia Soscia, a Long Island Personal Chef and Owner of Home Cooking Consultant. "We teach people how easy it is to create healthy meals right in their own kitchens using their own tools. It's a very relaxing way to learn new cooking skills or a new cuisine that is light and healthy. This 'Go Red for Women' program is the perfect tool for us to support more awareness of how to prevent heart disease through healthy eating habits. Something we've been doing for years. It would be a pleasure to be able to help our clients and send a big donation to the American Heart Association this year!"

The "Go Red for Women" movement is an initiative by the American Heart Association to raise awareness that heart disease, often viewed as a man's disease, is the number one killer of women today. To support the program, the American Heart Association started "National Wear Red Day" on February 1. Many companies ask employees to wear red and make a $5 donation. "We won't necessarily be wearing red that day, but there are many healthy red foods out there for us to cook!" states Chef Lia.

Chef Glenn Burgess of Supper's Ready Personal Chef Service, Inc. agrees that raising money for the program is a great opportunity. "There are a lot of cardiac issues on my wife's side of the family. When my friend Chef Lia came to me with this idea, I signed on immediately. It just makes sense that we can help people in a unique way to become more aware of how to cook healthy and at the same time give something to help support the overall program."

Many people think that cooking healthy meals has to be a time consuming chore. "Cooking healthy doesn't have to be stressful," states Donna Mintz of Basil & Barbells, Inc. "Our lessons take all the guesswork out of preparing simple dishes that include a variety of whole grains and vegetables along with lean proteins. A cooking class in your kitchen can give you a good jump start to heart health."

Parkinson's Virtual Reality Gait Training Device Improves Quality of Life

Parkinson's Virtual Reality Gait Training Device Improves Quality of Life

Newly released virtual reality gait training device shown to improve quality of life for Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and other movement disorders

Haifa, Israel (PRWEB) September 22, 2009

Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis patients are discovering first-hand that daily exercise with a new virtual reality device, the GaitAid Virtual Walker, has a positive effect on their walking ability, minimizing balance problems and improving quality of life.

Yoram Baram, a computer science professor and incumbent of the Roy Matas / Winnipeg Chair in Biomedical Engineering at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology has collaborated with several neurologists specializing in treating Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other movement disorders, in developing and testing a new, non-invasive training device designed to proactively minimize freezing and balance problems during walking. The noticeable physical and mental improvement of patients participating in clinical studies led Baram to bring the GaitAid device to market as a FDA registered medical device and is offering the device for a trial period on his company's website www. medigait. com.

Physical therapist, Ben Weinstock from Brooklyn, NY offers the GaitAid to his home and clinic patients. Ben says, "I have used the GaitAid for my patients with varying stages of Parkinson's Disease, in addition to those sufferiing from other neurological disorders. The GaitAid has become a mainstay of my treatments, as it provides visual and auditory cues during gait training. All too often therapy concentrates on movements but neglects sensory inputs. With the GaitAid it is easy to provide true "sensorimotor" physical therapy. The biggest surprise is that it even helps chronic conditions and late-stage Parkinson's."

Most Parkinson's patients using the GaitAid at home notice improvement in walking, and maintaining balance. Daniel Neal from Palm Springs, CA said, "As soon as I tried it my mobility improved tremendously!   For the first time in over a year I am already walking without a cane. I am so impressed and so grateful. I was dreading my planned trip out of the country until I received your glasses. I can not wait to share the miracle with my friends who suffer from PD. Thank you!"

The user-friendly device includes special glasses and earphones which provide sensory feedback of visual images and sounds in response to the patient's movements. The GaitAid requires no special training in order to start using it at home to gain improvement. Walking sessions with the GaitAid evoke a neuroplastic response in the patient's brain, creating new healthy neural circuits which by-pass the disease-damaged areas.

Parkinson's Disease remains a mystery of medical science. For reason's unknown, certain brain cells stop producing a substance called Dopamine, which affects an individual's movement, strength and balance. There is currently no cure, though stem cell research offers future promise.

Emerging scientific evidence confirms that movement lessens neurological deterioration that contributes to Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis progression.

Jeanne Crace from Hamilton, AL says, "I am still getting used to my new freedom while walking. I find myself unconsciously reaching for Dan's hand for support. I still use my cane for that extra secure feeling during my off times or if I become over tired and shaky. I am looking forward to some more travel and the ability to participate in more fun with the kids when we're together. I still train with my virtual walker most mornings unless I am having a bad off day."

The idea for the GaitAid project was sparked 12 years ago while Professor Baram was designing a mechanism for NASA to navigate low-flying helicopters around obstacles. The concept of the design, which Baram later applied to the medical device, is that the optical images of objects help the observer navigate, stabilize and pace movement in space.

The device is available for a trial period of 30 days:

A Down Payment on the Green Economy

A Down Payment on the Green Economy

USGBC joins top business leaders at the White House in support of the recovery package.

Washington, DC (Vocus) January 29, 2009

The U. S. Green Building Council was on hand today to lend its strong support to President Barack Obama's call for swift and decisive action on the economic recovery package that has been sent to Congress.

USGBC President and CEO Rick Fedrizzi was among several prominent corporate executives invited to the White House today for a briefing with Administration advisors. President Obama then delivered a short speech in the East Room urging support of the stimulus package. Top executives from Google, IBM, Honeywell, Edison Electric Institute, Time Warner and others were in attendance.

"The green building-related initiatives laid out in President Obama's economic recovery package will help put thousands of Americans back to work in the immediate term, creating as many as two million green jobs in the next five years," said Fedrizzi. "We're talking about jobs that will help us implement on a vast scale simple changes that will show up immediately in the energy bills and water usage of every business and family."

Fedrizzi continued, "Green school construction and renovation is part of this package; this sector alone represents a potential $20 billion in energy savings over the next 10 years. Greening and retrofitting of our public housing facilities is another target that will not only improve health conditions and increase energy and water efficiency, but generate savings to low-income families for whom lower utility bills can mean extra meals on the table.

"Greening our federal buildings offers another tremendous opportunity to demonstrate leadership by example using energy efficient and water efficient technologies to save billions in taxpayer dollars and at the same time create green jobs," he said.

"The return on this investment in America stands to be unprecedented, not only for its immediate return but for the trajectory it sets for a new low-carbon economy that is surely our best future."

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Prevention Tips from Baby Sleeps Safe for SIDS Awareness Day on April 24th

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Prevention Tips from Baby Sleeps Safe for SIDS Awareness Day on April 24th

American SIDS Institute Celebrates SIDS Awareness Day on April 24th.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) April 15, 2009

Having a baby is a wonderful experience that can be rewarding and challenging at the same time. New parents must learn to master an array of skills from feeding and burping to changing diapers and getting their little one ready for bed. While many parents are most preoccupied with activities that take place while their infant is awake, it is also very important to be vigilant while babies are asleep. Parents must educate themselves about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), the leading cause of deaths in infants, as it claims the lives of more than 2,000 sleeping babies each year.

"Parents must be informed about the very real risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and the various precautions they can take to significantly impact their infant's vulnerability to this tragic occurrence," states Baby Sleeps Safe President Dr. Vicki Folds, Ed. D., a renowned child development expert with more than 35 years of hands-on and research experience.

What is SIDS?

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden and unexplained death of a sleeping infant under one year of age. In most situations, infants show no physical signs of distress and are perfectly healthy. Ninety percent of all SIDS fatalities occur before an infant reaches six months of age.

What can you do for your baby?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following measures that may help to prevent SIDS:

Place infants on their backs to sleep. As sleeping preference is a learned behavior, parents should consider using products such as Baby Sleeps Safe, a two-piece infant safety product that keeps babies sleeping safely and securely on their backs, to ensure their baby is comfortable with the position. Do not place your infant to sleep in your bed. Instead, bring the crib into your room until your baby is at least six months old. Make sure the crib has a firm mattress and avoid soft surfaces. Remove blankets, bumpers, toys or pillows. Overheating an infant is a risk for SIDS. Clothe your infant to keep him warm, but avoid too many layers or warm room temperatures. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests placing an oscillating fan in the room to help circulation and cooling of air. Offer your infant a pacifier. Studies have shown a lower rate of SIDS with infants who use pacifiers. Breast-feed your infant whenever possible. Natural milk decreases the likelihood of respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, known to contribute to SIDS risk.

Dr. Vicki Folds is president of Baby Sleeps Safe, an infant sleep safety product that keeps babies sleeping securely on their backs. She is one of the nation's leading child development experts with 35 years of hands-on and research experience and several published childcare books including "Tray Tasking" and "Three Step Tray Tasking." Dr. Folds is currently on the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) Consulting Editors Panel and reviews articles for its Young Children Journal as well as future books for publication.

8 Kinds of People You Don’t Want to Marry A New Book By Isola O. Busuyi

8 Kinds of People You Don’t Want to Marry A New Book By Isola O. Busuyi

This book is a close look at those aspects of our human frailty that serve as potential hazards to marriage relationships. It is also a deep look at how our worldview has adversely influenced the way we interpret the Bible. Looking through the lives of people such as Adam, Eve, Nabal, Jezebel, Samson, Delilah, Elimelech, and Vashti, we learn how to avoid mistakes of the past and live lives that are pleasing to the Creator God.

(PRWEB) June 11, 2003

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) June 6, 2003 --- The new book titled “8 Kinds of People you don’t want to marry” by Isola O. Busuyi is a deep look at how to solve the ever growing problem of divorce.

The National Center for Health Statistics reported that there were 2,355,005 marriages in the US in 2000. In the same year the agency reported 957,200 divorces in the country. This gives an estimate of 40% divorce rate for that year but in 2002, the same agency increased the estimate to 50%. This implies that one out of every marriage in the US will fail. How can we fight this menace? What are the factors responsible for this malady? Is there anything we can do? A brief look at the figures presented by the National Center for Health Statistics for other countries show that the problem is not as serious in many countries as it is here in the United States. Even in neighboring Canada the divorce rate is less than half of what we have in the country. Could it be something about us? These are the issues the book tried to address through trait studies.

The book is divided into eight chapters. Each of them discussed specific human traits that could create hazards in Marriage relationships. In as much as many have tried in the past to search for solutions to this problem, it is believed that this book will also contribute substantially to the ongoing search. The author is currently working on his Doctorate in California. He has lived, studied and worked extensively in 3 continents. He holds two Master degrees in two different fields; MBA (Operations Research & Financial Management) and MA in Intercultural Studies.

The book is available on Amazon. com, Barnes & Nobles. com & Walmart. com for less than $10.00. The book ships within 24 hours in most cases.

KBE Building Corporation Helps Students Gain Experience with Innovative Initiative

KBE Building Corporation Helps Students Gain Experience with Innovative Initiative

KBE Building Corporation (KBE) (http://www. kbebuilding. com) announces the formation of its new SPECS initiative to support university students pursuing construction management, engineering, architectural, and related degrees. SPECS, which stands for Student Participation and Experience at Construction Sites, allows undergraduate students to gain invaluable, hands-on experience at actual job sites.

Columbia, Maryland (PRWEB) November 11, 2010

KBE Building Corporation (KBE) (http://www. kbebuilding. com) announces the formation of its new SPECS initiative to support university students pursuing construction management, engineering, architectural, and related degrees. SPECS, which stands for Student Participation and Experience at Construction Sites, allows undergraduate students to gain invaluable, hands-on experience at actual job sites.

KBE has long encouraged student participation on its university projects. For example, while expanding a dormitory building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), an honors university, students worked closely with KBE and the architectural team from Newman Architects. They collaborated on aspects of the “green” roof and several other design options during the pre-construction phase. The same students will be afforded access to the construction site to see the implementation of their design assistance.

The SPECS initiative is not limited to engineering students, however. Construction Management students at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland are logging time at the job site of a new Harris Teeter store in nearby Olney, MD. Professor Joe Smith, a retired 30-year veteran of Clark Construction Group, LLC, who teaches a Field Operations course, said he’s never seen a company do this much for our students. They’ve really laid out the red carpet for our students and included them in all aspects of the construction management process, even bringing them out of the field to teach them the behind-the-scenes processes that occur back at the office,” said Smith.

Indeed, KBE employees recently hosted five students from the Harris Teeter job for a half-day session at the Columbia, MD office where they heard presentations from management on:

The business-development process;  Estimating;  Assembly of a submittal package;  Operations Department activities following the awarding of projects;  Project Manager techniques to make projects successful.

Jim Powell, Site Superintendent on the Harris Teeter project, has been very accommodating, helping the students learn about masonry, grouting, plumbing, concrete pumping, and overall site work. They’ve even been involved in quality assurance inspections.

The students also review drawings and learn about the various tools available to facilitate site management, including: KBE’s intranet site, daily reports, safety briefings, etc. The students then give monthly updates to their classmates, including multimedia presentations.

KBE company president Mike Kolakowski acknowledged the costs involved in the SPECS program: “We easily spend a week or two of man hours per semester for each class we do this with by giving the students this level of access and attention,” he said. But he wouldn’t have it any other way. “It helps improve the level of competence and professionalism in the industry, it’s the right thing to do, and best of all, we might find a great new hire throughout the process.”

“Every day in the field is a learning experience and something we may or may not cover in class. For example, just last week a student assumed that he shouldn’t go to the job site, because it was raining. I told him to go! Find out what the problems are today, and learn what types of things they do when site work is slowed down by bad weather,” said Smith.

This group of Montgomery College students will end their onsite experience on December 13, 2010, so they will have been exposed to only the initial work, not the completion. The spring semester enrollees will get to see the completion, but will have missed the early site work. Either way, it’s invaluable experience. According to Smith: “They can put it on their resume and instantly differentiate themselves from other job applicants who have never even stepped foot on a job site. They also have a much higher level of confidence than their counterparts who have not had the opportunity for such experience.”

“We plan to aggressively implement this program wherever feasible and give these kids this opportunity. We do a great deal of work on university campuses, so it will be a very natural fit in those cases, but any other projects that are near an appropriate academic program will also be strong possibilities for implementation of SPECS,” said Kolakowski.
