The pathologist is the consultant, the doctor’s doctor, to all other physicians. Now, the patient is able to communicate with the same expert. This site offers personalized interpretation of laboratory reports, explanation of diseases, medical news, and a discussion board, all from the viewpoint of the pathologist. How often have you heard the following phrase, “We are waiting for the results”? What you are really waiting for is the pathologist to make the diagnosis. The laboratory is often viewed by the patient as black box, a bewildering collection of sophisticated equipment where specimens are received and a diagnosis miraculously

They are the pathologists, physicians specially trained in the art and science of laboratory medicine. Nearly all medical decisions are based upon the results of the laboratory. These results are complicated and written in highly technical language, requiring years of training to properly interpret. Ironically, the physician producing these results, the pathologist, very rarely communicates with the patient. Unlike the popular media impression of the pathologist doing autopsies and solving murders, most pathologists practice in hospitals and private laboratories and are doctorsto the living. The patient that is able to understand their laboratory result is in a better position to make an informed decision regarding their medical care.
