UPI to Host Newsmaker Forum on Water-related Illnesses



United Press International will host Our Water, a multimedia newsmaker event focused on preventable water-related illnesses, September 23, 2009 from 11am-2pm on the first floor of the Verizon Bldg, 1133 19th St. NW, Washington, DC.

United Press International will host Our Water, a multimedia newsmaker event focused on preventable water-related illnesses, September 23, 2009 from 11am-2pm on the first floor of the Verizon Bldg, 1133 19th St. NW, Washington, DC.



Our Water will include a panel representing people and organizations actively working to solve problems arising from the lack of clean drinking water. Nearly 1 billion people around the world do not have regular access to clean drinking water. The United Nations and other groups regard the problem as a developmental and humanitarian crisis.



Participating experts, advocates, and members of the media include UPI Global Water Issues columnists Joseph B. Treaster and John Sauer. Mr. Treaster also serves as the editor of 1H2O. org and a Knight Chair at the University of Miami's School of Communication. Mr. Sauer is also the Communications Director for Water Advocates.
